12.- "AZARÍAS" (Francisco Rabal)

Francisco Rabal supo encarnar de forma extraordinaria el personaje principal de la novel de Miguel Delibes, ese personaje que a la chita callando acaba arrastrando y convirtiéndose en el eje de toda la historia.
Azarías es un hombre sin crueldad y que con sus palabras al decir "milana bonita, milana bonita" marca un ritmo a la historia. Es hermano de Régula, y trabajaba en la Jara pero lo echaron de allí. Tiene setenta y un años, pero él siempre dice tener "uno mas que su señorito". Viste siempre con la misma ropa, con los pantalones de pana por las corvas, la bragueta sin botones, y con los pies descalzos. Con su boca desdentada decía cosas ininteligibles y a veces parecía masticar la nada. Tenía por costumbre orinarse las manos para que no se le agrietaran por el frío. Tiene un amor extraordinario a los pájaros que va cuidando, también tiene una extraña afectividad a la Niña Chica.

No sólo gracias a la pluma del escritor, Francisco Rabal consiguió elevar a los altares a este personaje inolvidable, mucho se lo debe a Juan Flores, el inculto campesino extremeño cuyo personaje encarnó magistralmente Paco Rabal en Los santos inocentes, en uno de los grandes papeles de la carrera del actor y que le valdría el premio a la mejor interpretación en el Festival de Cannes.
Rabal convivió con Flores, apodado Barrunta, durante varios meses antes de rodar la película. Su objetivo era ir emulando día a día todos sus gestos, sus costumbres -tan rudas como humildes y honestas-, sus andares brutos o su vozarrón apenas inteligible. El intérprete aprendió del labriego que orinarse en las manos no era ni mucho menos tan despreciable, porque aliviaba el dolor que produce el frío extremeño de madrugada o las heridas de las largas jornadas de trabajo en el campo. Quizá esta anécdota haya pasado a categoría de la mano del escritor Miguel Delibes, quien escribió una obra realista, reforzada luego con la película de Mario Camus, donde describía con acierto la servidumbre de muchos campesinos extremeños, que trabajan en el cortijo para los señoritos llegados de Madrid a pasar sus días de asueto y disfrutar de las jornadas de caza tan abundantes en Extremadura.

El personaje de Azarías en Los santos inocentes no sólo le sirvió a Rabal para entablar una gran amistad con Flores, sino que el papel significó un punto de inflexión en su madurez como actor. Desde entonces, su carrera iría de éxito en éxito hasta su muerte.

El actor murciano se implicó tanto con el personaje que incluso le compró a Flores su viejo pantalón de pana, con la bragueta sin botones, su roída chaqueta y su vieja camisa, no teniendo que desembolsar nada por los zapatos porque simplemente no los llevaba nunca. De día o de noche, jornada tras jornada, ésta era la misma vestimenta, sin cambios, sin recambios, sin limpieza regular salvo cuando su hermana Régula -mujer también vasta, pero con modales, y que se encargaba de la servidumbre de la marquesa y sus hijos- acertaba a lavarlas. Habitualmente, ello tenía lugar cuando el olor era ya tan insoportable que terminarían echando a Azarías de la Jara (en la ficción, no en la vida real) por falta de higiene.
En la vida real, Juan Flores -que jamás fue al cine- sólo se puso delante del televisor una vez para ver una película, ésa donde Paco Rabal le interpretaba con sus hipérboles quizá no tan exageradas, mostrando al gran inocente de mirada tierna y noble, aquel que trabajó en el campo desde los cinco años hasta que, prácticamente, falleció. Sólo cinco años antes tuvo la oportunidad de jubilarse, aunque para entonces su mejor interpretación ya había terminado.
Falleció en la localidad pacense de Alburquerque, su pueblo natal, en agosto del 2008, pero un trozo de su vida ha quedado para siempre gracias al trabajo de Paco Rabal.

Napoleón Dynamite (Jon Heder) es un adolescente patético y extremadamente idiota que se desarrolla en el seno de una familia disfuncional. En el colegio, como es de imaginarse, está condenado a la marginación total, sus únicos amigos son una chica rara que se dedica a la fotografía (Tina Majorino) y un joven mexicano con poco raciocinio (Efrén Ramírez).

Uno de esos entrañables freaks de comportamientos extraños, más bien excéntricos, y que siempre se les tilda como raros, en el fondo, personajes super carismáticos que nos hacen pasar un rato de lo más divertido.
Napoleon Dynamite es una especie de Forrest Gump que brinda lecciones de amistad, que puede ser el mejor de tus amigos, y que en el fondo lo único que intenta es seguir adelante en la vida como uno más, y digo esto porque, como todo personaje freak que se precie, Napoleon es un completo inadaptado que vive con su no menos patética familia y únicamente se entiende con sus introvertidos amigos, unos amigos de lo más variopinto.

Inolvidable: por uno de los bailes más desternillantes de la historia, por su amistad inquebrantable con Pedro, por la campaña en el colegio "Vote for Pedro", por sus conversaciones sin sentido, por la máquina del tiempo,…
Inigualable: ¿de donde cojones se sacaron a este tipejo?

Moraleja: ¿El perdedor nace o se hace? Parece que lo primero, al menos así lo certifican las muchas cintas ambientadas en colegios que desde los años 80 nos han llegado desde Norteamérica. Casi todas de producción independiente, demuestran la disposición natural hacia la crueldad de algunos críos hacia los diferentes e inadaptados y la propensión a dejarse pisotear por la otra parte.

Amelie Poulain no es una chica cualquiera. 9.- "Detective JOHN MCLANE " (Bruce Willis)

Uno de los mejores héroes de acción del cine.
John es policía de Nueva York con una capacidad innata de atraer la destrucción y de estar siempre en el momento y en el lugar oportuno cuando unos terroristas van a ejecutar su maléfico plan de extorsionar e impregnar el terror.
Un mito dentro de los polis duros: John McClane, un hombre socarrón y violento que no duda en meterse en problemas, un policía muy pasado de rosca y muy muy quemado, un protagonista inolvidable.
Los actores Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Burt Reynolds y Richard Gere fueron considerados para el papel de John McClane, pero sin Bruce Willis estoy casi seguro que no existiría ese personaje tan divertido y tremenda mente explosivo que, con cada uno de sus gestos, salidas e intervenciones, se gana el corazón de los espectadores.
No es perfecto, ni mucho menos, es un poli con mala leche, pero con el instinto suficiente como para sobrevivir y vencer a un comando de terroristas perfectamente organizado, ya sea en un rascacielos, ya sea un aeropuerto o ya sea en las calles de New York, siempre se las ingeniará para salir airoso de las situaciones más complicadas.

Bruce Willis, es un perfecto reflejo del hombre moderno, lleno de dudas morales, con dificultades para vivir y ser feliz. Pero McLane, al contrario que el hombre moderno, cuando es necesario se convierte en un héroe a la antigua, y combate a los malos con sus propias armas, testosterona, adrenalina, y chistes malos.

Uno de los villanos más famosos del cine y de la literatura.
Inteligente, perverso, despiadado y con un peculiar sentido del humor, el doctor Hannibal Lecter es uno de los personajes de ficción más populares jamás creados, algo paradójico si tenemos en cuenta que se trata de un asesino en serie y además con gustos caníbales.

Creado por el novelista Thomas Harris, se dio a conocer en todo el mundo con la novela El dragón rojo (1981), sus aventuras tuvieron continuación en la siguiente novela titulada El silencio de los corderos (1988), y culminó en 1999 con Hannibal.
Ya en el año 2006 su autor publicó la que ha sido su última novela sobre este personaje titulada Hannibal: el origen del mal, una precuela que narra la infancia y juventud del popular asesino y que ya ha sido llevada al cine como todas las demás novelas. Pero fue la adaptación de Jonathan Demme de la 2ª novela escrita y la interpretación de Sir Anthony Hopkins la que dotó de celebridad y fama mundial al personaje.

Su orígenes: nació en 1938, en Lituania. Su padre era un noble y su madre procedía de una familia italiana, los Visconti. Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial las propiedades de sus padres fueron bombardeadas por los nazis, y él y su hermana menor, Mischa (a la que adoraba), quedaron huérfanos. Ambos fueron capturados por soldados desertores, los cuales asesinaron a Mischa y se la comieron. Esto es lo que se conoce de su infancia, la cual, sin duda, sembró las bases de su tendencia al canibalismo. Se convirtió en Doctor en medicina especializado en Psiquiatría, y se instaló en E.E.U.U, donde comienza a asesinar a personas conocidas, a las que, después de cocinar, sirve a sus invitados.

Aunque este personaje ya había aparecido con otro rostro en Hunter (1986), la primera versión de la novela El Dragón Rojo, sería Sir Anthony Hopkins el que daría al personaje su carisma y sus rasgos distintivos: su perfil aristocrático, su maquiavelista manera de actuar, dominando todo y a todos, su gusto por los juegos macabros y cómo no, sus crímenes. La escena en la que un Lecter enjaulado engaña a sus guardianes y acaba con ellos mientras suena de fondo música clásica pertenece ya a la galería de momentos estremecedores de la historia del cine. Una de las anécdotas que se cuenta de ese rodaje es que la caracterización y vestuario "camiseta y pantalones de color blanco impoluto" fue obra del propio Hopkins, que usó para inspirarse el recuerdo de su propio dentista. Otro dato curioso es que aunque su presencia se siente durante todo el metraje, en El Silencio… nuestro querido psicópata sólo está en pantalla aproximadamente 15 minutos.
Y por supuesto, se llevó el Oscar.

Lo odiamos pero al mismo tiempo lo amamos y nos gusta ver su libertinaje y cómo se sale con la suya.

Anthony Hopkins siempre tendrá mucho que agradecerle a esta película, pues sin duda gracias a ella, se ha ganado la inmortalidad en la historia del cine.
